How we collect, store, and use your personal information.

We only have access to the information you voluntarily give to us when you sign up for or use our service. We do not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will only use your information to respond to you regarding why you contacted us and provide and operate our services.

 

To obtain services from The Glisteners Foundation, a user must first complete the registration form (Student Application, Tutor Application, Volunteer Applications, etc.). During registration, a user may be required to give certain information such as their name, email, address, phone number, or date of birth. A parent may be required to provide information about their child's school, grade level, and the subject in which their child needs tutoring, including their child's school counselor contact information (for program verification purposes). 

 

We use your information to notify you when you are approved for our program or whether you may work or volunteer with us. We use your information to create an account with us. Users have the options to include a profile photo but it is not required. We may store your profile photo, username and password along with other personal contact information during this process. Your information enables us to communicate with you about questions you may have or the extent of other related business involving your use of our services. 

 

Our site is host on the Wix.com platform. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. Therefore, your data may be store through Wix.com's data storage, databases, and the general Wix.com applications. We may also store your data offline on our organization storage system. We may store your information on both the site and offline to enable us to provide you with quality services, prevent fraud, process transactions, and stay in compliance with applicable laws.

Recording/ Data Retention

 

We use digital technology to ensure quality services to all our students. To maintain educational integrity and to protect our tutors and students, ALL SESSIONS WILL BE RECORDED, including students' and tutors' voices, along with everything written on the whiteboard. All recordings, images, snapshots or tutoring sessions, digital transactions, any digital exchange or print used during, for, or by our services are the property and rights of The Glisteners Foundation. Even after you have withdrawn from our services, we may retain your personal information for legal/regulation purposes. After three years all prior data will be remove.

Right to Opt-Out of Marketing Promotions

 

We will not use your data to market or advertise to you but when you subscribe to our newsletter, we may use your information to notify you from time to time about new trends/ fundraisers/ promotions/ workshops and services offered by the Glisteners Foundation. We will continue to contact you about these offers (which you have consented to receive) for as long as your subscription stays active with us.

​How we share your personal information.

 

We strive to only use or share the minimum require data that will authorize us to successfully provide you with quality services. We do not share your information for any other reason other than to fulfill your business relationship with us. For example, suppose you are a parent. In that case, we may exchange your information and your child's information with your child's school officials and staff to verify eligibility and enrollment for our services. Suppose you are inquiring about an employment/volunteer position with us. In that case, we may share your information with the appropriate departments to conduct a background check on you (as you have consented to) and verify your credentials for the position in which you have expressed interest. During your time with us, we may share your information with our business partners/personnel to process other necessary legal documents to stay in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

We may share your information with third parties where our services are connected, where our use of their services will enable us to provide you with assistance. To provide you with services, we may integrate with other websites to fulfill services to you. This integration allows you to have a better-quality experience with our site/services. We use Wix booking to enable you to schedule tutoring sessions with us. Through Wix booking, we also send you booking confirmation, reminders, and cancelations.

We may also share your information with law enforcement agencies/officials in situations where we are subpoena or asked to under the circumstances governed by federal law.

 

How we use cookies

 

We use cookies on our site to enhance our visitors' and users' experiences. It permits us to understand how you use our site and helps us identify where improvements may be needed. We use it to prevent fraud and unauthorize access to certain features on our site. The use of cookies allows us to protect ourselves and our users from anonymous claims of suspicious activities for legal and regulated purposes. We do not use cookies for marketing or selling purposes. When you leave our site we do not track your activities on other sites.
